Mysore, renamed as Mysuru, is the capital of Karnataka. It earned the tag of being the 'Cultural Capital of South Karnataka' because of its cultural richness. It has emerged as a well-known tourist center and a peaceful place. Mysore Palace: Situated in the city's center, it is also known as Mysore Maharaja Palace, is one of the largest palaces in India. This palace is made up of and was created in 1897 originally but had to be recreated in 1912 due to smash up by fire. Visit in night to enjoy the fully illuminated view of the grand palace.

Chamundi Hills: It is 3kms from Mysore and is 1065 meters above the sea level. As old as 11th century, got its renovation done in 1827. Specialty? Carved out of single rock. It is a must visit place. Brindavan Gardens: Spread across 150 acres, the gardens are situated below Krishanaraja Sagar dam. It is one of the best gardens in India and showcases many fountains of different shapes and sizes out of which, musical fountain is the major attraction.

Vinayaka Mylari: Famous for its masala dosa and idlis. Though a small shop but the wait to get in and get a seat is worth it. Must visit and try delicious items. Sapphire: Luxury and royalty is in your blood? This place is for you. Dine in royal Indian style here. Traditional and royal silver thali and buffet on weekends are its specialty.
