Karamana River

Karamana River starts near the southern tip of the Western Ghats at Agastyar Koodam and joins with the Arabian Sea at Panathura near Kovalam. Karamana River holds up rich biodiversity which consists of- wild cane, bamboo, mangroves, water lillies and coconut trees; one can spot rare species of pine or pandanus along the river bank and some rare fish species such as karimeen, chekkaali, kariyida, paruminali, cherumeen, vaala, nedumeen and paaval.
